We do food well around here (not that I’m biased!) and one of the best ways to experience that Northern Rivers Food 2020 Harvest Festival. And it is only three months away, so time to start planning.
The Festival showcases the region’s amazing growers, producers, chefs and restaurants with events across the region from Friday 1 May to Saturday 9 May 2020. Things will kick off with a special Opening Event at Stone & Wood Byron Bay. The hugely popular Harvest Trail returns on Saturday 2 May and Sunday 3 May. You can choose to self-drive and visit farmers and producers to have a behind the scenes look at how they do what they do. Or better still, you can come on an exclusive small-group trip with Table Under a Tree and get an even more personal insight into the foodie world. Plus you can safely enjoy a cocktail along the way! We’ll be releasing details of this soon so stay tuned.
Other Festival events range from Evans Head to Casino to Kyogle and the Tweed. There’s everything from Brookfarm’s abundant long table Harvest breakfast, a community feast at Barrio Byron Bay, an indulgent lunch at The Spotted Pig in Lindendale, a Food Photography Workshop with award winning local photographer Nelly le Comte, a sunset cruise on the Tweed River with Mount Warning Tours and a long table dinner under the stars in Kyogle’s amphitheatre.
The Harvest Autumn Fair returns on Saturday 9 May, a family friendly event focused on educating kids about where their food comes from. Think fabulous food festival meets country fair! Featuring live cooking demonstrations and masterclasses, food competitions, musicians and fun kids activities throughout the day, there’ll be something for everyone.
